The money
Your commission, itemised.
We give homeowners itemised quotations. Here is yours.
How a designer gets to $8,000
5 projects a month × $30,000 average × 6% = $9,000
$30,000 is the typical size of a whole-home quotation we send. Your target, not a guarantee: whole-home projects take weeks to close, so your first month will not look like your third. Close more, earn more. Close nothing, earn nothing.
Read this before you apply
This role is not for the weak.
You read a floor plan, price a kitchen by the foot run in your head and run every trade to the date. Nobody does that part for you.
If you have never measured a site, drawn the layout and closed the quotation yourself, this page is not for you.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of hands-on interior design experience
- Full experience selling carpentry end to end, from site measurement to handover
- Excellent written and spoken English. You will message homeowners on WhatsApp every day, and they judge us by every reply.
- Able to coordinate carpenters, plumbers, electricians and painters
- Able to hit timelines, every time
- Able to reply to homeowners every day, weekends included
Please don't apply if
- You are new to interior design, or a salesperson from another industry looking for a commission job
- You need a guaranteed monthly income. This role has none.
- You cannot reply to homeowners on weekends
- You have never owned a project from quotation to handover
- You miss a timeline and blame the contractor
- You want to design but never sell. That track comes later.
Be honest with yourself
Does any of this sound familiar?
- 01You finish a site measurement at 9pm and still owe three quotations before you sleep.
- 02You see a homeowner's message from 8am on a Sunday, and another firm already replied to it.
- 03You pay for portal leads, then find out four other firms got the same phone number an hour before you.
- 04You quote late into the night for homeowners who were never going to sign.
- 05You price a job carefully, then the carpenter's cost goes up and the difference comes out of your end.
- 06You count next month's leads on one hand.
Your income is not capped by how good you are. It is capped by how many serious homeowners you get in front of, and how much of each job sits outside your control. This role fixes both.
What we hand you
Everything a designer needs to close, except the closing.
Spent by you on ads or leads
We run the ads and ask every enquiry its scope, budget and key date first.
Factory, and it is ours
So the carpentry timeline you promise is one we actually control.
Weeks of factory production
From design sign-off, so you can promise a homeowner a date and keep it.
Plywood in every cabinet
Standard, never an upgrade, at a third of E1's emission limit.
Month no-swelling guarantee
In writing: if a cabinet body swells, warps or peels, we rebuild it free.
Trades beyond carpentry
Plumbing, electrical, ceiling and painting partners, so you sell the whole home.
And much more, which we walk you through at the factory.
The product you will sell
What you draw is what our factory builds.

Day to day
What the job actually is.
Reply
Enquiries come in every day, weekends included. You answer fast, in clear, professional English. Fast replies win site measurements.
Measure
Visit the home, take the measurements and learn how the family actually lives.
Design
A layout and 3D the homeowner can picture themselves in.
Quote and close
An itemised quotation built on our rate card. Then you close it.
Coordinate
Carpenters, plumber, electrician, painter. You hold every one of them to the date.
Hand over
Walk the homeowner through a finished home, on the day you promised.
The factory behind you
Your projects get built by people you can call by name.

Best Carpentry builds in its own factory. Darren Diong, our project manager, runs production on the floor with his father.
So when a homeowner asks "when is it ready?", you get the answer from one person, not a chain of subcontractors.
Shortlisted designers visit the factory before they start, so you see exactly what you are selling.
Questions
What designers ask us.
Is there really no basic salary?
Yes. The role is commission only, with no cap. Our target for you is $8,000 to $10,000 a month in commission, about 5 projects a month at around $30,000 each. It is a target, not a guarantee. If a basic salary matters more to you than the upside, this role is not the right fit, and that is fine.
How much is the commission, and when is it paid?
30% of the gross profit on every project you close. Our gross margin sits around 20%, so that is about 6% of the contract value. Paid as soon as the homeowner's payment comes in. Homeowners pay in full at handover, so your commission on a project lands after handover.
Do I need to bring my own clients?
No. We bring the enquiries: 100+ new homeowner enquiries a month, each asked about scope, budget and key collection date first. You never buy a lead or run your own ads.
Is this a sales role or a design role?
Both, today: you own the homeowner from the first message to handover. Long term we are splitting it into two tracks, Sales (first message to signed contract) and Design and project management (site measurement to handover). Designers who are strong at both today are first considered when it splits.
Do I have to work weekends?
Replying to homeowners is part of the role every day, weekends included, because enquiries arrive seven days a week. You manage your own time, but fast, clear replies win site measurements.
Can I do this part-time?
Not right now. Leads arrive every day and homeowners expect a fast answer, so we need designers who are fully in.
What kind of projects will I sell?
HDB flats, condos and landed homes across Singapore: kitchens, wardrobes, full-home carpentry and whole-home renovation. Every order totals $10,000 or more (rooms and pieces add up).
Do I need my own contractors?
No. Our factory builds the carpentry, and we have trade partners for plumbing, electrical, ceiling and painting. Your job is to coordinate them and hold them to the timeline.
What happens after I apply?
We read every application. If you are a fit, we call you and invite you down to the factory to meet the team. Then you start getting enquiries from our pipeline.
